The Walter A Wood Bench Project for Hoosick Falls NY
This project's aim is to create park benches made with Walter A Wood Company tractor seats. The Walter A Wood Company was a worldwide leader in horse drawn farm implements from 1855-1920. This company was Hoosick Fall's largest employer and was a world-wide leader in mower and reaper sales. At its height, the Walter A. Wood Mowing and Reaping Machine Company employed 2,000 men and turned out about 90,000 machines per year. Walter A. Wood is often referred to as "the man that made Hoosick Falls".
